Live like a local and participate in the traditional festivals known as sagras. Without a doubt the biggest event is Settembre castellano, a 30 day festival that includes gastronomic events such as the Sagra della braciola (pork steak sagra) and sporting events such as the Carrera, this is a tradition that has evolved over the past fifty years, where light vehicles are hand pushed at speed by adults and children through the town.

Weekends in June are dedicated to the “Walking theatre”, where street pieces are performed in the city centre “sweetened by Naturalmiele, organised by the National Observatory of the Production of Honey.

Music festivals attract much attention with the Festival del Blues in May and Cassero Jazz in March when international names perform alongside local musicians. Since 2005 “La notte bianca” (sleepless night) has gathered its own momentum, it is an opportunity to share music, dancing or simply to have fun all night long.
